Juvenile delinquency refers to criminal acts committed by minors.
Most legal systems have specific procedures in place for dealing with juveniles, such as juvenile detention centers. Rights relating to juvenile delinquency are stated in both international and national legislation. It is critical to treat young suspects individually throughout any criminal investigation or prosecution. Countries enact unique legal processes, such as protection from the death penalty or life sentences without the possibility of parole, for minors.
In Somalia, there is widespread violation of children's rights, including provisions relating to the process of the investigation, prosecution, and trial of children. The majority of juveniles commit crimes such as theft, robbery, sexual misdemeanors, and homicide.
In this paper, we examined the rights of juvenile offenders; how they are treated during the investigation process; how they are prosecuted and rehabilitated; and what to do about the crimes they commit without violating their human rights.
