Introduction

November 19th 2021 Badbaado Legal and Consultancy Center {BLCC} conducted a two-day Training on Victim Protection for members of the CID.

Objectives:

The purpose of the training was to improve the skills and legal knowledge of the investigators working in the Criminal Investigation Department {CID} which benefited a number of trainees.

Topics include:

• The rights of the accused before the time of the Courts

• The right of the accused during the trial

• The right of the suspect after the trial

Defendant's Rights Before Trial.

The lawyer properly explained to the trainees the prohibition of the provisions in the Draft Constitution and the Code of Criminal Procedure concerning the right to pre-trial detention such as Prohibition of Unlawful Detention, Torture, Right to Know the Cause of Arrest, Right to Appear in Court, being held in a humanitarian setting, and the individual's right to notify his or her family of detention.

Probationary Counsel's Right to:

The judge had the opportunity to explain in detail to the trainees all the legal rights of the defendant during the trial, such as the right to equality before the court, the right to a fair hearing, and the right to a court hearing. openness, teaching beliefs, the right to self-defense, the right to test witnesses, etc.

Defendant's Rights After Court:

The lawyer explained to the trainees all the rights of the person after the declaration of the 1st degree court such as the right to appeal and the right to compensation.

Conclusion:

The training was concluded by the Commander of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Investigators at the CID Center who have been upgraded their legal skills to access the rule of law
